Tournaments Overview

Tournaments are where you make your name. Fame and fortune await you and your Wryvals!

Tournaments are the proving grounds where the best of the best Wryvals are crowned champion.

There are two types of tournaments: Racing and Duelling. When you first enter a tournament, you will play a qualifying round to determine your seeding in the tournament brackets. Qualifying rounds work as follows:

Racing

Race through the tournament course (each tournament course will be different) and try to achieve the best time. The Wryval who has the best time will be seeded against the Wryval with the worst time, the 2nd best time against the 2nd worst time, etc.

Duelling

Duel against a Tournament Wryval. How you finish against the tournament Wryval will determine the tournament seedings. They will be based on who wins the duel in the least amount of rounds.

Wryvals can only enter one tournament per day.

Tournament Brackets

Tournaments start at regular intervals during the day; you will never have to wait much more than a few minutes for a tournament to start. For each round, a player will have 5 minutes to finish their tournament game. Once a tournament starts, it will take 15 minutes to play out.

The winner of a bracket game is determined as follows:

Racing

Both Wryvals in a bracket game will play the race. If one player defaults, the other Wryval gets the win. If both players default, neither Wryval will go on to the next round. If both players default in a championship game, then both Wryvals will split the combined pot of 1st and 2nd place and will be promoted to the next level.

If both players play the tournament game, the winner of a bracket game will be the Wryval with the best time of the race. If the two Wryvals are tied, then the game will simulate races until there is a winner.

Duelling

The player with the higher tournament seed plays the Duel match. If a player defaults a bracket duel game, then the other Wryval will win the match.

After the first round is played, the winners of Round 1 will be pitted against each other in the championship bracket and the losers will play in the demotion bracket.

The winners of Round 2 in the championship bracket will play against each other to determine the tournament champion.

The losers of Round 2 in the demotion bracket will be demoted down a level.

Tournament Progression

Every Wryval starts their tournament life at Tournament Level 1. The top 2 Wryvals (those who make it to the championship game) will be promoted up to the next Tournament Level. Level 5 is the highest Tournament Level that a Wryval can achieve; while the bottom two Wryvals in a tournament will be demoted down to the level below (Level 1 is the lowest tournament level).

The higher tournament level that a Wryval participates in, the more money they will win. A Wryval’s tournament record will remain with it for life. A Wryval who consistently wins and has a good tournament record will conceive offspring that are highly desirable by all players.
